Sunday 23rd February 2025
Woke up to lovely blue skies and felt that our holiday had really begun. The day could have started a couple of hours earlier but we sleep with blackout blinds meaning we rarely get ‘bothered’ by a sun rise. We have yet to get the routine of stripping the bed and recreating our U shaped lounge area off to anything resembling a proper plan. From tomorrow I am going to put a stop watch on this task as I am sure that having a target on the bed stripping will enable us to have breakfast instead of brunch! After a leisurely morning sitting in the sun reading and relaxing we took our first walk of the trip. We followed a dried up stream bed which led down to the sea and the beach. There were several really interesting rock formations on and around the beach. The sea was a beautiful blue colour but the sand was quite grey and more stony than sandy. There are beaches all along the coast south of this campsite and we plan to explore more beaches and coves during the week. We managed over 8,000 steps and both of us feel great and are ready to do more tomorrow. It is less than 3 months since Paul had his left hip replaced so he is doing remarkably well.
Best: Stopping at the campsite bar for a cold beer on our way back to our van.
Worst: The price of the beer in the campsite bar!
