Day 12

Saturday 1st March 2025

The bad weather (which was forecast) was waiting for us when we woke up this morning. It was so disappointing to see so much rain and such very high winds. We were very grateful that we had decided to bring our chairs and tables inside but we are getting a bit overcrowded. WiFi in the van is  patchy which is very frustrating but not unusual on campsites. When we leave this coastal campsite (great location as just a 20 minute walk to the beach) our next stop is Granada and a visit to the Alhambra Palace. Just to the north west of Granada is the Tabernas Desert which is the only true desert in Europe. It has an arid climate, it rarely rains and has temperatures that can reach over 40 degrees in the summer and drop to O degrees in winter. This desert became famous in the 1960s and 1970s when it was used as a set for numerous films including “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” and “A  Fistful of Dollars

Best: I had time to get on with my ‘Paint by Numbers’ flower picture.

Worst: Discovered that I am not very good at painting!
